1. Choose Your Battles
It sounds cliché, but this is truly one of the most important ingredients to a long-lasting relationship. It definitely isn’t easy, especially when he’s done something that is so juvenile (such as leaving his dirty socks on top the coffee table … gross), but I know from experience that blowing up time and again over little, insignificant irritants – in the grand scheme of things – is not the way to go. If he stays out all night with his boys at questionable bars without giving you a call, then by all means let him have it. Otherwise try your damndest to turn the other cheek (because really, who wants to waste precious Gossip Girl time arguing about laundry?).
